  • Games will be played in the Janesville Craig Fieldhouse, Janesville Parker Fieldhouse, or the JP Cullen Gymnasium at the Janesville YMCA.

Team Fees

  • HS Sweat League 
    • $500
    • Includes two games a night
    • Refunds are guaranteed up until May 15th. After that, refunds are not guaranteed
    • Max teams per age group
      • 16- All teams after that will be waitlisted in case there is a drop out

  • MS Sweat League
    • $375
    • Includes one game per night
    • Refunds are guaranteed up until May 15th. After that, refunds are not guaranteed
    • Max teams per age group
      • 8- All teams after will be waitlisted in case there is a drop out


Ages

  • All ages will be consistent with the 2021-2022 school year.
    • No graduated seniors will be allowed

Team Sizes, Rosters and Registration

  • Teams will register through a google form (sent out from the YMCA Sports Director). Rosters will not be needed at the time of registration, just the full payment.
    • Checks can be mailed to YMCA of Northern Rock County, ATTN: Corey Beecher, 221 Dodge Street Janesville, WI 53548 (memo line: Sweat League)
    • Credit card payments are accepted. The YMCA will reach out to you if indicated on the google form.
  • Teams will need a minimum of eight players and a maximum of 15 players
  • Rosters will need to be submitted by May 23rd.
    • HS players may play on multiple rosters. They must be listed on both rosters to be eligible to play.
    • Failure to submit roster can result in removal from the league, no refunds will be issued.
    • Roster must have a minimum of eight players on the roster.
  • A team must have five players to start a game and four players to finish. Once a team is down to three players regardless of the score, the game is over and the team with three players loses.

Game Length

  • HS League will have 2x20 minute halves, running clock
    • Clock stops during any regular stoppage or dead ball with one minute or less in the first half, and two minutes to go in the game.
  • MS League will have 2x18 minute halves, running clock
    • Clock stops during any regular stoppage or dead ball with one minute or less in the first half, and two minutes to go in the game.
  • Three minute half time
  • One, one-minute timeout per half.
    • Timeouts do not carry over from the first half
  • Games Times
    • 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 7:30pm, 8:30pm
    • Games will be played as scheduled. Game time is forfeit time.
      • 5-minute warm-ups – Time permitting - Clock starts immediately.
  • Overtime
    • There will be no overtime. Games can end in a tie.
  • The clock will continue to run if there is a 20-point lead during the final two minutes, regardless if the deficit drops below 20 within the last two minutes.

Gameplay

  • NFHS rules will be applied
  • Defense: All defenses are allowed, including zone & full-court press. No press or half-court trapping on or after a 20-point lead.
  • Player fouls and team fouls will be played under the WIAA rules. This includes bonus and super bonus.
  • Technical Fouls: All technical fouls are an automatic 2 points and the ball.

Team Colors/Uniforms

  • All teams need to have two colors when registering. You will not be registered without colors. Colors need to be one dark and one light uniform.
  • All players must have the same jersey color, with their individual numbers on the back.
  • The second team on the schedule will need to change if there is a color conflict.

Team Responsibilities

  • Each team will be required to supply one score keeper or clock manager for the game.
    • The YMCA, JBA or the school district will not be supplying table workers.
  • The first team listed on the schedule will be required to supply a game ball. 
    • A size 7 (29.5) basketball will be used for al boys’ games (HS and MS). 
    • A size 6 (28.5) basketball will be used for all girls’ games.
  • The last games of the night, teams will need to put the chairs on the chair rack.
  • Two technical fouls on a player or coach will result in immediate ejection and a suspension for the following game. The coach or player must leave the bench/game area immediately and may no longer participate in any way.
  • Unsportsmanlike Conduct: In the event that a coach has been issued 2 technical fouls and will not leave the bench area, he/she will have to leave the building immediately or his/her team will be disqualified. The coach will not be allowed to coach any of the remaining games in the league.
  • Coaches are responsible for fans and players. Abuse of officials by fans may result in technical fouls being called on the coach or ejection from the premises. Any unbecoming conduct, fighting, or use of profanity will result in a technical foul, ejection from the league facility, or elimination from the league (without refund).

No Show Policy

  • Teams will be assessed a “no show” fine of $60 if they do not communicate to the YMCA Sports Director they will not be able to participate in their game(s) this week.
    • If unable to participate in the current week’s game(s), 72hr notice is needed to void the no show fine.
    • Teams must pay the $60 prior to their next game for that age group. They will not be able to play until the fine is paid.
      • Checks can be given to the site supervisor.
      • Checks should be made out to the YMCA of Northern Rock County

Record Keeping

  • Only wins and losses will be kept for the league. No other stats will be kept.

Officials

  • All officials are independent contractors and will be WIAA or equivalent certified.
  • The referees have full authority on the court. Protests will not be allowed.
